Which altcoin projects have been swallowed by whales?
The latest figures from WhaleStats reveal the current spending habits of the 1,000 largest over-the-counter Ethereum addresses. These wallets feature positive entries of stablecoin Tether (USDT), followed by leading smart contract platform Ethereum (ETH). After that, WhaleStats reports big listings for Gala (GALA), an Ethereum-based win-to-play altcoin project that has risen in value following a recent listing on Coinbase. GALA's largest single transaction was the purchase of 9,999,911 GALA worth approximately $4 million by a whale known as "Light".
Data from WhaleStats over the past 24 hours shows that the average Tether purchase was $121,862, the average ETH purchase was $54,745, and the GALA average whale purchase was $47,886. Whales also made smaller purchases of BTC-pegged Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), virtual reality platform Decentraland (MANA), and meme coin Dogelon Mars (ELON).
Gala is a relatively new player in the crypto space, launching late last year. The Gala Games team aims to create an ecosystem of blockchain-based play-to-win games. To date, five games have been developed and Town Star is now available to play in beta form.
