Starbucks Chose Polygon for NFT Project!
Starbucks has announced that it will launch a unique NFT collection to build a digital community and provide customers with access to exclusive benefits. The company has announced that it will partner with Polygon (MATIC) for this project . Polygon has become popular lately with its high speed and low transaction fees! The critical development was announced during the second-quarter balance sheet statement from Starbucks on Tuesday. The firm said it could create an NFT community on an “environmentally sustainable” platform that would be more aligned with its current sustainability mission. Starbucks' NFTs will likely be aimed at the 27 million Americans currently enrolled in the 'Rewards Program'.
Additionally, the company said it is “exploring exciting ways to bring digital community and experiences to life online.” In a blog post published by the company, it was stated that a collection of NFTs will be available for sale, which will enable customers to be part of the digital community, and will also provide privileges to the owners of these NFTs. Starbucks is valued at approximately $96.7 billion, while OpenSea, an NFT marketplace established in 2017 , has already surpassed $13.3 billion. So it's no surprise that big companies are investing in this new technology.
What Themes Will NFTs Focus On?
Initially, the NFT experience the business plans to deliver will focus on coffee. According to the statement, NFTs will be created to cover both current and past Starbucks-style artistic expressions as well as collaborations with world-famous names. Previously, the business did not specify what type of blockchain technology would be used in its NFT collections, only stating that it would likely be "multi-chain" or "chain agnostic".
The company's CEO, Schultz, aims to transform Starbucks into a crypto-friendly company. The executive points out that other huge companies not only sponsor NFT airdrops, but also create new crypto experiences in the metaverse, such as stores or collaborations with other crypto projects. Brady Brewer, CMO of the company, stated that the company will step into the world of NFT , and that the concepts to be presented in this context will strengthen the sense of community in customers and added:
This year we hope to launch our first NFT collection, membership and community focused on coffee art and expression.
